Take 5 Splodges and Splashes

Sylvia here with another two cards for the April Take 5 Something Blue Challenge.  For these cards I made some home made washi tape by stamping two strips of masking tape with two different colours and stamps.  The first with the square grid stamp in the sea blue pigment ink and the circle grid stamp in the triple sky pigment ink.

For the first background I lightly sprayed white stamping card with totally turquoise ink and added drops of waterfall ink splashed here and there.  The second background also on stamping card was a mixture of stamping, dropping ink onto the card and flicking with a brush.

 

I added the tape to the backgrounds, a sentiment to both and embellished the first card with a die cut feather coloured with sea blue and sky blue pigment ink .  The backgrounds were mounted onto matching coloured card then attached to white linen card blanks, a few enamel dots were added to finish the cards.

 

Materials Used:

• Pure colour Chemistry Inks in Totally Turquoise and Waterfall 
• Triple Sky Blue and Sea Blue pigment ink pads
• White Stamping Card
• Stamps - Square Grid, Circle grid, Texture Elements and Good Luck/Best Wishes/For The Future/Special Day

Something Blue Challenge ~ Rose Bumper Collection

Elaine here with an 8" x 8" card for the April Take 5 Challenge where the theme is Something Blue.

 For this card I've chosen the  Rose Bumper Collection set of stamps - there are 12 stamps in the set, the focal rose, borders, backgrounds and sentiments so it's really useful.  The background is a mix of  Totally Turquoise and Tempting Teal Pure Colours sprayed onto the card and moved around with the solid rose stamp.  Over that I've added the Rose Border and Outline Rose stamped with Midnight Pigment Ink.  The main Rose is embossed with Copper Embossing Powder and then painted with Tempting Teal and Paris Pink Pure Colours.  I had a little Paris Pink left over on my mat so picked this up with the Solid Rose to create the border. It's just finished with the sentiment again embossed in Copper.

Something Blue from Rachel

Here is a post for the "Something Blue" Challenge from Rachel Fisher.

1. Spritzed a piece of card with pure colour inks Blue Jeans, Peacock green and a mixture of Blue Jeans, Peacock Green and citrus lemon. Dry.

2. Overstamped in Colour Chemistry pigment ink in powder blue using the Thoresby background square stamp from the texture squares stamp collection

3. Stamped Clematis Tower stamp and heat set in detail silver embossing powder.

4. Repeat step 3 on a piece of card left over from step 1. Fussy cut the flowers and add to image one.

5. Stamp the Creativity Sentiment and cut out. Add the acrylic ink around the edges of both the main topper and the sentiment and mount onto a card.

Texture Element Flower

Elaine here with  the first project from the design team for the April Take 5 Challenge where the theme is Something Blue.

I decided to use the Texture Elements set of stamps - five different but really useful designs.  The background is Waterfall Pure Colour sprayed onto the card and moved around with the solid rose stamp.  For the flower I've stamped all the stamps in the set onto die-cut ovals using Midnight Pigment Ink.  It's just finished with the sentiment from the Birthday Stamp set.

Join in our new challenge.

As we move into Summer I know the Design Team struggle to keep making and posting, so I often look for guest designers. This year I came up with the idea of combining the best the team and some specially selected Guest designers. So for 5 months I am going to be running challenges that will feature 5 designers, sending you short posts you can check out in 5 minutes. So there you have it TAKE 5.
Here is a card I made on Hochanda recently. I really loved this one, quite simple and made with just one sheet of Stamping Card.

It inspired me to decorate the envelope too. I used Waterfall Pure Colour chemistry ink and Midnight Colour Chemistry Pigment ink pad with some clear embossing powder. The stamp used is the Clematis Tower

This project also inspired the first challenge, so for April the Challenge is make "Something Blue". 

It can be anything you like, you can use any Oak House Studio products you like.

Make your own Wedding Invitations using the Clematis Corner

Spring is just around the corner and it'll soon be the main wedding season. Have you thought about making your own wedding stationary?  Here I've used just a few supplies from Oak House Studio to make a coordinating set - I've chosen a brown and gold theme but really you can do whatever colour you want!

 

I've started with a Save the Date card using Yummy Chocolate and Glorious Gold Pure Colour for the inky panels.  The main stamp is the Clematis Corner embossed with Pearly Gold Embossing Powder which I think is a very weddingy colour!!  Save the Date is from the Wedding Words set which also includes Wedding Invitation, Evening Invitation, Order of Service, Menu and Congratulations.

 

Once you've set the date then you can send out your Wedding Invitations.  To carry on the theme, I've used brown card and added some brown check ribbon.  For Evening Invitations, you can use the same design but just change the sentiment.

 

 

Finally a place card - you can either print your guests names before making the piece up or write on by hand.  I've just added an inky panel on the base and a Pearl Gold embossed Clematis Corner.

 

 

The Clematis Corner is a gorgeous stamp for wedding cards and even if you are not making invitations, it'd be a great Congratulations card for any occasion.  Plus you can make it whatever colour you like.
