Oak House Studio meets Candy Box Crafts

I was asked a few weeks ago if I would consider contributing a ‘little something’ TAKE 5. I must admit I’ve never done a blog post at all so this is all new to me.

Lynnda told me this month topic was 3D so just my sort of thing!
I decided I wanted to try something with our ‘Boxx’ as the base for this project.

I set to and cut 5 pieces of 300gsm white card for the outside panels of the Boxx. Each piece was cut 6mm smaller than the panel to allow for a border all the way around which would later be coated with Prima Copper Crackle Paste.

Having laid out the 5 pieces of card in front of me I liberally sprayed all the pieces with PURE
Oak House Studio Peacock Green Watercolour Ink, followed by a splash here and there of Bottled Sunshine and Waterfall. I let the colours ‘mingle’ for a few moments before running a kitchen roll across the pieces of card to soak up the excess Ink. A flick of water to give some texture was all that was needed for now.

I’m quite random in what I do so armed with some ‘background’ stamps I added some more texture in the form of small flowers and groups of dots using one of the triple ink pads, which complimented the backgrounds perfectly. I then embossed the large Daisy flower in white, trying to match the flower up as it moved across the panels. The centre of the Daisy was embossed in copper using the smaller Daisy stamp and then to finish each panel a little silver frantage here and there.

Before adhering the decorated panels to the Boxx I had already masked the area off where the panels were to go and spread some Prima Copper Crackle Paste over the exposed edges which I think gives a simple yet nice effect.

Hope you like my first ever blog post.
