Using Up My Citrus Scraps........

Hi everyone, Barbara here again with a very quick post.
I just wanted to show a clean and simple card I made with my inked scraps.....( at this point I'll tell you that I NEVER throw away even the tiniest scrap of inked card which I've made myself....they all go into a box separate from all my other scraps )  The squares were cut out of the scraps from my last card (below), and stamped with the gorgeous large butterfly HERE
I also inked the American seam binding, to match.
If you're sick of the sight of butterflies, don't worry.....I only have one more to show you after the weekend, haha

The sentiment is also from OHS.
(I love the 'font' on this one )

A very clean & simple card. Do hope you like it.....Don't forget, all you have to do is comment on any of the recent posts, to be in with a chance of winning a fab selection of inks.  What are you waiting of?? ;-)

Catch you all next week with my last butterfly card
Have a great weekend,
Barbara

Gorgeous Inks and Beautiful Butterflies.........

Hi everyone, hope you're all well and enjoying this hot spell.......must admit as much as I love the sun, it's simply too hot if you're not on a beach or round a pool.

I'm therefore tucking myself away in a cool craft room and getting inky.

Today's card was made with Colour Chemistry Inks.....I LOVE them

Products used in this card are......Colour Chemistry Inks, Citrus Lime, Citrus Lemon and Peacock Green. White embossing powder, English Garden script and 3 sizes of butterfly stamps.

I'll be back soon with more samples, but in the meantime, enjoy the sun or your crafting, whichever you prefer in this heat.

Inky Inspiration

Hi Everyone it's Debbie here with a simple little inky inspiration today I have used the following inks and stamps

A Stitch in time ( button)
Colour chemistry Pigment ink in Sea Blue and Orchid

to create the coloured layers I gently stroked the ink pads across Linen cardstock this is a fab technique to enhance the texture of the cardstock, I then over stamped the pink layer with the sunflower stamp in both colours and then added some of the button stamp, the ribbon was cream when it started out so i ran the sea blue ink over the top of this to create a matching ribbon finally I coloured the butterfly with Spectrum Noirs.

Inky Door Hanger

Elaine here with an Inky project - the request was use Oak House Studio's Ink in a Bottle and that's what I've done to create a door hanger.

A while back I entered a challenge where we had to make something using the colours of our front door....well mine is white pvc but it does have a stained glass kingfisher in it so lots of blues, oranges and greens.  I started with a plain wooden door hanger and sprayed this with Jubilee Blue and Citrus Lime Ink in a Bottle, left this to dry and then sprayed again with Jubilee Blue and Peacock Green just to intensify the colour.  The inks soak into the wood beautifully leaving the grain showing through (see below). Just to finish I blended a little Midnight Pigment Ink around the edges.

Next I sprayed some white card with Citrus Yellow and Citrus Orange Ink in a Bottle. I gold embossed the large Sunflowers from Oak House Studio, cut them out and sprayed on a little more Citrus Orange.  For a highlight, I used a pipette to suck up a little Jubilee Red Ink and added that to flower centres.  The Enjoy stamp was inked with Midnight Pigment Ink and clear embossed.

All the Inks in a Bottle, Pigment Ink Pads, Sunflowers and Enjoy Stamps can be found here.

Thanks for taking the time to look.  Lynnda is having a give away so don't forget to leave a comment on the post here for your chance to win some Inks in a Bottle!!

BLEACHING - A Quick Tutorial

Hi everyone, Barbara here again,  with my very first tutorial for Papermill Direct, just thought I'd share it on here too......it may drag on a bit, so I'd suggest you grab a cuppa before you start reading! ;-)
I know lots of you will already know about bleaching techniques, but for the newer crafters, I hope you find this informative.....

Ink a piece of white hammered card with distress inks or distress stains..... I've used stains.
Cut out a 5" x 5" square with a die.

Make a bleach-pad with a few bits of folded kitchen roll and bleach. Choose your stamp and randomly stamp over the inked card with the bleach.
Have a well ventilated room and clean your stamp immediately!
On this card I've used a new butterfly design from

With a smaller square die, cut out the centre of the stamped card.

Mount both pieces onto black card.

Mount the small square onto the large one, with foam tape, matching the design.

I have dyed some silk binding with the stain, and printed a little sentiment onto a scrap of inked card.

Stamp and cut-out 2 butterflies then position them on the corresponding bleached image.     Mount the whole piece onto a base card.
Here is another finished sample to show how much the bleach 'lifts' ;-)

Sentiment & butterflies from the lovely Lynnda Worsnop of Oak House Studio

Phew, that's it.....I do hope you'll give bleaching a try, it's really very easy.

Without Change, There Would Be No Butterflies.......

.......and what a sad World it would be!

Hello everyone, welcome back.
Barbara here today showing a new card made with the fabulous, brand new stamps from Lynnda at Oak House Studio. I have more to share, so keep checking back over the coming week or so.

I've started with a piece of white card which has been inked with Spray Inks from the Colour Chemistry range

I randomly stamped the small butterfly with household bleach then overstamped with a dark red inkpad HERE

The butterflies and lovely sentiment stamps are available HERE

I inked up a small piece of acetate with alcohol ink to colour-match, then cut out 2 butterflies as 'vague, whispy' embellies....I didn't want anything to detract from the lovely butterfly stamp.
I matted it all onto a piece of craft card and then again onto a brown card base.
No ribbons, pearls or anything else.....don't think they're needed.
What do you think??
Have you ever stamped with bleach??
It would be great if you could leave a comment, to let us know you've visited.
Catch you all soon,
Barbara xx
