going mobile!

Ok folks at last I am have my old laptop working with the internet. I know that might not sound that exciting to you, but it is a big mile stone for me. It should mean I get to blog a bit more often and have less excuses. Oh dear no presure then.
I am sat trying to watch the marvelous Claire Curd on Ideal World and keep an eye on Robert on Create and Craft.
Claire is a very talented crafter and I think her work is great, unfortunately she works for DoCrafts and I am not that keen on them as a company. I love Claires cards, she does really neat matts and comes up with lots of interesting ideas.
so I am off to watch more. Expect a second post today

Spring has sprung

As we drove south to Alexandra Palace on Friday it was pleasing to seeing that the hedges were full of blossom as the blackthorns were turning white. Near the hotel trees were full of cherry blossom. Back home three days later and the blackthorn is still biding it's time and the cherry is looking thoughtful. The magnolias just about to burst forth with some flowers openning. I am feeling inspired.

This was our first show for about 5 months and I have come home with a long list of jobs to get on with to be fair it is probably just a longer version of the one I came home with when we drove back from Ally Pally in September!! where does the time go?
Got the chance to catch with a few Oak House Studio fans including Elaine who came to demo for me on Saturday and brought me some samples ready for e next TV show. Keep an eye on her blog as she tends to post pictures on there before she sends me the samples.

all change

Well you knew it was too good to be true! I just get dates published and then ... all change.
I am not now doing Create and Craft on 14th April. It has been moved to early May. that makes the other April courses easier for me BUT it means the scrapbooking Festival will have to be reduced or moved. I only discovered this change today and I am in the midst of packing for Alexandra Palace so I am leaving it until Monday to re write the programme for May.
I will let you all know as soon as possible about all the new dates.
If you are going to Alexandra Palace please stop by and say hello. We have packed as much stamping card as Ideal World have left us with, but if you want any, it is best to stop by the stand and get Martin to save it for you rather than carry it around all day. We set off very early in the morning so unless you email before 8pm on Thursday we won't get the message.

Amazing!!

It was cold and wet but the place was bursting at the seams at 10am just as we openned. It was amazing to talk to some many new and interested people. Thank you all for turning out and waiting to see me.
Places for the Introduction to Stamping course filled quickly. Although I do have a couple of spaces left for Saturday 24th April. I guess it was that people realised what a great deal this is. I am offering the starter kit as part of this course. RRRP for this kit is £25 pounds, price for this this class including the kit is £20 what a bargin. I do ask that you are genuinely new to stamping though.
To help soften the blow to all those other stampers out there who have supported me through out the last year at Cold Harbour Farm, I have a special offer for the whole of May. If you attend or have attended a PAID for workshop at the new studio, you can claim 10% discount on anything you buy during May.
It will be one year since we openned at Bishop Burton and so I will have lots of offers on workshops and products through out May to celebrate, including an OPEN HOUSE on Sunday 9th May 2pm to 4pm when you can claim your discount. There is a nice course in the morning if you want to make the day of it! Oh and Birthday Cake too!

I will post all the details as soon as I can. If you want to be kept informed email the update list at ohsupdate@googlemail.com

Open Day Details

We have an OPEN DAY at Calf House Studios on Easter MOnday 5h April. 10am to 4pm
The plan is for all the studios to be open for you to look round and ask questions. I am considering opening the top half of my stable door and letting you peer in from outside ; )
You see at this precise moment in my timetable there 10 large boxes almost ready for dispatch takeing up a huge chunk of my space. With those in there it is hard to get to the rest of what needs putting away. Don't worry going to pop to the studios with Martin today and remove said boxes and then Martin and I are going to deliver them tomorrow. That does mean I only have Easter Sunday to make the place presentable for Monday. It will be better than it is but please don't expect anything wonderful this time round. I really hope to everything looking brilliant for the scrapbooking festival in May. Are you coming? Book a class, a crop or come to the Open House. I have my scrapbooking events early May as this is when America and Austrailia have their National Scrapbooking Days usually around thier Mothers Day (not sure why or if that is done deliberately). But also it is my Birthday and this time it will be one year since I moved into the studio.
