One Stamp Challenge - Pin Cushion

Well it was certainly a challenge that's for sure.  When I first started playing with the stamp I had an idea that I wanted to do this project on fabric and create a central panel on a small cushion.  However my sewing machine decided that it didn't want to play and I ended up with a bent needle and could I find a  replacement?  Nope nowhere to be seen.  So I ended up making a small pin cushion and had to sew the edges by hand - luckily it's not very big and I could do it while watching a program on TV.

The stamp for this challenge the large Christmas corner stamp.  I stamped it onto some off white calico with a black archival ink pad and added some background colour with water soluble wax crayons and on top of that I used the colour chemistry ink sprays in citrus orange and regal claret.  I let this dry and then started adding colour with the water soluble wax crayons.

Once all the colours had been added I let it dry and as you can see colours have become more muted and pastel.  Next stage is to add the beads and sequins.  Now here was where I encountered machine melt down and I ended up sewing the edges together using a button-hole/blanket stitch with embroidery thread.  I've used some wadding to stuff the cushion with.  I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out in the end.
