Lavendars Blue

When my energy levels dipped yesterday and I went to sit in the conservatory and did a little sewing, not my best work but this is warts and all stuff so we learn for a next project.
Here is my lavender heart. I used 4 layers of muslin, one was sprayed with French Lavender and one with French Mint. The two white layers were both stamped with the large heart and Orchid Colour Chemistry pigment ink.
One heart was embroidered and I use the term loosely with a variegated thread.
What I would do differently when I do this again. Dye white thread with the inks so it matches, use less strands at once, take my time and build up more of the pattern.
Cut out the hearts before I sew it together.....
Thanks for the Lavender Julie..xxx

Enjoy today, learn from the experience.

What a brilliant use of the one stamp, I love the embroidery it's such a cleaver way to enhance the stamping.

Unfortunately I don't like the smell of lavender :( but this lavender pillow may be nice enough to convince me otherwise!
